I was walking down this strip of hostals trying to choose where I was going to stay when I walked by loro verde. The owner was outside looking for business and offered to show me a room. Great! The room was everything I needed, private bathroom, comfy bed, for $10 per person with breakfast included. This was one of my favorite stays here in Ecuador. I was not here over the weekend so I am not sure how loud it gets but the location is great & it has everything you need for a good price.

i stayed at the loro verde for several nights, including over the weekend. as others have mentioned, the hostal is quite close to foch and some club noises can be heard at night on friday and saturday nights. i always travel with earplugs so i just popped those in and slept fine. the hostal is quite clean, the sheets and towels are very clean (which was not true of some other places we stayed at). the staff was very friendly but did not speak english at all. i don't really speak spanish very well so a lot of hand gestures and google translate was used, but we seemed to get by okay. the hostal is conveniently located across the street from a laundromat, which was great. wifi works great. my biggest complaint about this place is the hot water. i only had one hot shower

Casa Kanela and Pousada del Maple were full one day so forced elsewhere. Loro Verde is about a block closer to Foch Square than those. Turns out it was too close so on busy Foch Square nights (Thurs/Fri/Sat) too much noise came in my room for me to sleep well. Small room but small $16 price. Otherwise nothing that bad or that good about the place. When I was there didn't seem to be favored by very many travelers.

I stayed at Loro Verde for almost a month. Rooms are very clean and the staff was excellent. Great attitudes and helpful people. Very close to plaza Foch and all the restaurants and bars you could imagine. Great prices too.
